As a couple we are entering the final stage of our parenting journey: the teenage years and beyond. The Grandkids Are Coming: Cooking With Kids

Homemade pizza, with an easy to make homemade sauce is a good place to start. Use store bought crusts or dough to make the process easier. Let the kids top them however they want. Most kids don’t know that pizza doesn’t have to come to the door in a box.

Making a cake from scratch or a box is fun. Make a luscious frosting from scratch like The Last Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe You will Ever Need.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies is a grandma standard. Recipe is usually on the back of the chocolate chip package. You could be wild and substituted toffee, peanut butter or white chocolate chips...or not.

Homemade soft pretzels area hit with older kids. Patience is required because rises are involved. I use to make them with my kids.....sigh.

....any other suggestions?

I'm not a good cook or anything like that BUT i'm a good eater! In fact i'm already craving while reading the post. I guess no suggestions but I hope you have a great time with the grandkids. God bless you!

Do you know what I do that's always a hit with the kids.... The cupcakes baked inside of an ice cream cone? Have you ever made them? Depending on how old your grandkids are.... They always seem to be a hit among my kids and their friends.....

You just prepare cake mix per the directions on the box, and pour the batter inside "cake cones" and bake....

Use your frosting... which I'm going to try.... and sprinkles to decorate.... looks just like an ice cream cone!

Fun!!!

Ice cream cones are a good idea! My grandaughter loves making cupcakes, she likes to be able to dip the batter in the cups. Then for frosting you can let them go wild with the decorations. I have a decorator tube with different tips for cookie batter or frosting. I like to use the neon food coloring and we love the sprinkles.
